It tackles the big three expected from a portrait lens. Good low light performance. Sharp in focus. Pleasing fall off and bokeh. Then it adds surprises. Dust and and water sealed. Fast and silent focus. Not a distraction and easy to take candid portraits. Also consistently accurate focus. Many keepers. Small and light. A benefit of this is that it does not scream, “Hey, I have a really expensive lens over here!”, which is a plus unless you want the attention that brings.

Je suis trés décu de cet objectif que j'ai acheté autant pour la photo que la vidéo, or celui-ci est inutilisable pour filmer en autofocus continu, dès lors que l'on ferme l'ouverture à plus de f14 l'autofocus "pompe" et l'image devient complètement instable. Je regrete mon achat!!!

Auf der Suche nach einem wertig verarbeiteten und kostengünstigen Objektiv bin ich auf das FE85 1.8 gestossen. Zahlreiche Bewertungen anderer Nutzer sprachen dafür. Ich habe es nicht bereut. Preis-Leistung geht nicht besser. Teilweise Metall fühlt es sich super an. Die optischen Leistungen überzeugen. Bereits bei Offenblemde unglaublich scharf. Mehr Lichtstärke bzw. Freistellung empfinde ich als sinnfrei - was soll ich mit Bildern eines Hundes, bei dem die Augen scharf, die Schnauze und die Ohren unscharf sind - was für ein unnötiger Wahn nach Lichtstärke, wenn dann sowieso meist abgeblendet werden muß und ein vernünftiges Foto zu erhalten.

Sony FE 85mm F1.8 este un obiectiv excelent pentru portrete, oferind o calitate optică foarte bună la un preț accesibil. Are un bokeh plăcut datorită diafragmei f/1.8, autofocus rapid și precis, iar construcția este solidă, deși nu complet rezistentă la intemperii. Este ușor și compact, ideal pentru utilizarea pe camere Sony mirrorless full-frame. Per total, un raport calitate-preț excelent pentru fotografii de portret și nu numai.

I recently purchased THIS LENSE, and I couldn't be more impressed with its quality and performance. Das Objektiv macht einen wunderschönen Look. Ich habe es mit einem günstigeren 75mm verglichen und zwischen dem Bokeh liegen Welten. Ich nutze es an einer Sony A6400 vor allem für Portraits. Ich mag eine etwas längere Brennweite lieber als die üblichen 50mm. Die Bilder sind knackscharf, der Unterschied zum Kitobjektiv bemerkenswert. Die Haptik und Verarbeitung wirken hochwertig, der Autofokus ist blitzschnell. Einziger, deutlicher Nachteil: Es gibt keine Bildstabilisierung. Wenn man das Objektiv wie ich an einer unstabilisierten Kamera nutzt, sollte man sich im Klaren sein, dass alles unter 1/300tel frei Hand schon kritisch werden kann, je nachdem wie ruhig die eigenen Hände sind. Ich habe das Objektiv für 399€ im Angebot gefunden und nochmal 60€ Rabatt bekommen, weil die Gegenlichtblende gefehlt hat. Für so einen Preis ein No Brainer und bezüglich Preis-Leistung unschlagbar.

Wenn du ein Bild mit einer längeren Verschlusszeit aufnehmen möchtest, verwende am besten ein Stativ und die Bildstabilisierung (wie die SteadyShot-Technologie), um versehentliche Kamerabewegungen zu vermeiden. Habe das Objektiv nun schon ein halbes Jahr und verwende es an der A7IV. Macht zusammen richtig Spaß! Für Portraits verwende ich es auch, aber hauptsächlich für die Sach- und Landschaftsfotografie in Verbindung mit einem Polfilter. In beiden Bereichen brauche ich die Schärfe und den sehr guten Kontrast. In der Sachfotografie kommt die Verzerrungsfreiheit und das kontrolieren der Reflektionen mit dem Polfilter hinzu. Auch wenn es "nur" ein "G" ist, ist diese Objektiv eine Perle im FE-Objektivsortiment. Für einige cromatische Aberationen gibt es Programme. In BW ist das eh kein Problem und eher förderlich.

Sehr scharfes Objektiv auch bei Offenblende. Entscheidend ist natürlich auch der - für ein Vollformat-Objektiv - attraktive Preis. Und mit 130mm an der a6600 eine interssante Brennweite. Mit ebenso hervorragender Schärfe bei Offenblende. Pixelpeeper werden die chrom. Aberrationen in den Ecken bemängeln. Doch die lassen sich in Post beheben.

Whilst all the publicity and lens reviews attention seems to be on the faster f1.4 lenses for the Sony FE Alpha system, this f1.8 lens is a gem and much more easy to handle due to its compact size and low weight when moving around taking portrait, sports or street photographs. The difference between f1.4 and f1.8 isn't that significant with modern camera sensors that can handle low light situations, whilst the images captured are very similar, so Sony is to be applauded for keeping an f1.8 85mm lens in its range - it would be great if it does the same for all its lenses (pro 1.8 versions of all its key focal lengths) as an original reason for going mirror-less was to save weight and size.

After moving to Sony from Nikon Z, this FE85mm lens was my first purchase and boy oh boy its pin sharp, along with the surperb eye AF on Sony cameras its a win win. Nice weight to the lens and the focus hold button can be reprogrammed for whatever you want ( i changed it to eye AF ) Fantastic weight, fantastic sharpness, fantastic price.. 10/10

Seit kurzem als lichtstarke Ergänzung zum Zoomobjektiv 28-60mm setze ich das Objektiv gerne für Portraits ein. Es hat eine schöne Unschärfe die ich gezielt zum Freistellen einsetzen kann, abgeblendet ist es schön scharf. An meiner a7c ist es noch handlich genug .

Schon offen knackscharf bis auf eine ganz leicht hinterherhinkende Ecke oben rechts, was aber im normalen Gebrauch kein Problem ist (f2 und auch die ist leidlich scharf. f2.8 auch für pingelige-Pixel-Peeper). Bokeh auf weitere Entfernungen wirkt ganz leicht etwas unruhig, aber noch guter Bildeindruck.

J'ai reçu cet objectif pour un anniversaire dans le but de faire du portrait. Il est parfait pour mon utilisation et le fait que ce soit un 85mm me permet de capturer les personnes de manière naturelle. De plus, l'ouverture à f1.8 permet la création d'un bel effet bokeh et donc de faire ressortir le sujet de l'arrière plan. C'est un objectif parfait, car en plus de ses spécificités, il est compact, et donc très pratique

Am citit înainte despre el, am văzut recenzii pe YouTube, am făcut tot felul de calcule - dacă e bine sau nu să-l iau, dacă se potrivește setup-ului meu, dacă și în ce fel mă v-a încurca că nu are OSS sau că va fi folosit pe un APSC și nu FF. Deși nu părea neapărat o idee foarte bună, l-am luat totuși și după câteva zile de teste mă declar mai mult decât mulțumit. Am făcut fotografie de produs și deși poate nu e cel mai potrivit pentru asta în condițiile descrise mai sus (folosit pe un ZV-E10) - a dat niște rezultate foarte bune comparat cu ceea ce folosisem anterior (Sigma 16mm f1.4 DN). Apoi am testat și în cadrul unui eveniment foto portret în low light, la fel și filmare în aceleași condiții. În ambele situații s-a descurcat foarte bine. Per total mă declar foarte mulțumit și în ciuda neajunsurilor (lipsă OSS pe obiectiv, ZV-E10 nu are nici el stabilizare), mă bucur că l-am achiziționat. La teste am folosit un Ronin RSC-2 și un trepied video.

Unfortunately due to the physics in magnification of lenses, Full frame telephoto prime lenses will normally have a higher minimum focusing distance, unless it is designed as a macro lens which will have more elements inside, making it a larger lens in size and weight. Diese Linse ist nahezu perfekt - Schärfe, Gegenlichtempfindlichkeit sind im Vergleich zu meinen bisherigen Linsen auf einem völlig anderen Niveau. Selbst die Haptik, wenngleich nicht ganz so solide anmutend wie die des GM 85mm 1.4, ist für diesen Preis wirklich hervorragend. Ich kann es uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.
