Bought this as I wanted to see what the best telephoto Prime from Sony was like. Ive owned Nikon and Olympus top quality telephoto primes & this Sony one stacks up against them very well. You get what you pay for sometimes. Photos attached here are low resolution - full quality from an A7R IV and A9mk3 are stunning.

Diesen Monat habe ich nach reichlicher Überlegung entschieden das Sony FE 600 mm F4 GM OSS zu kaufen, und zu keiner Sekunde bereue ich diese Entscheidung. Wunderbare Optik!

The 200-600mm Sony lens is so good that I have always wondered just how much better the prime could be. Well now I know - and it is better in every way. I primarily photograph birds so being able to use the teleconverters and still get great quality is a real plus. The difference in f stop actually works out to the difference between getting some shots and not, even in the heady days of high ISO and DeNoise. The lens is surprisingly light in the hand as it is so well balanced. The zoom lens still has its place in my kit bag, but the prime will definitely be my main lens from now on.

Das Objektiv liefert eine herausragende Schärfe, auch mit dem TC 1.4 dann bei 840mm. Zusammen mit der A1 sind wegen dem perfekten OSS auch relativ lange Belichtungszeiten aus der Hand möglich, z.B. 1/250 bei 600mm. Nachteile: es ist riesig und auf Dauer sind 3kg auch nicht wenig, der Preis eines kleinen Autos …. Alle Bilder mit dem Objektiv, meist noch mit TC1.4. Hochgeladen mit Handy. Gerade in der Wildtier Fotografie sehr gut.

AF hervorragend, Geschwindigkeit hervorragend, Abbildungsleistung ebenfalls. Bin rundum begeistert. Nachstehende Aufnahmen sind alle frei Hand gemacht.

Seit zwei Jahren grüble ich nach, mir dieses Objektiv zu leisten. Mit meinem SEL 200-600 war und bin ich sehr zufrieden gewesen und werde es auch behalten. Nach reifer Überlegung hatte ich ein Exemplar ergattert, ich weiß, dass diese nicht auf Lager produziert werden! Gekauft und an meine A1 und bereits die ersten Fotos zeigten den Sprung der Qualität! Das Prime ist derart scharf und trifft dabei mit dem Auto-Focus präzise was es soll! Einfach geniale Technik und Verarbeitung! Für den ambitionierten Hobby-Fotografen sowie für den Profi kein Nachteil dadurch!

Ich besitze es erst seit kurzem, daher hier der erste Eindruck. Lichtstarkes Objektiv, mit außergewöhnlicher Schärfe. Für die Größe akzeptables Gewicht. Was mir nicht gefällt ist die Befestigung der Gegenlichtblende, und der merkwürdige Objektivdeckel (Lederteil mit Klettverschluss).

Changed my 200-600 for this. I certainly haven't regretted it, this lens is perfect for my wildlife photography. I use it with my A1 which is the ideal combination. A fast lens with superfast focus and amazing bokeh. Resulting images have super intricate detail. I cannot fault the lens.

cet objectif va me permettre de faire des photos animalières en sous bois et par mauvais temps, chose plus compliquée avec le 200-600. j'apprécie beaucoup le revêtement caoutchouc sur le bord de l'objectif là ou en général on a des petits chocs après quelques mois d'utilisation. Le poids est bien équilibré et est plus supportable que ce que je pensais. La qualité des photos est au rendez vous, cet objectif monté sur l'Alpha 1 est vraiment remarquable. La mallette de transport est luxueuse mais imposante. Le seul bémol sur cet équipement est la consommation accrue de la batterie, si on tend l'oreille, on entend un bruit permanent d'un moteur à moins que cela soit un défaut, à vérifier

This lens is tack sharp, and the dual linear motors make for super fast autofocus. Lens is much lighter and more balanced than any other 600mm I have ever worked with. These benefits are what makes the cost of this lens justifiable for me. I shoot 90% of my images hand held and I am shooting erratic fast moving subjects. This lens allows me to get the job done, and not get beat up in the process. For me - this lens is a dream come true.

Wer in Erwägung zieht, dieses Objektiv zu kaufen, der weiß warum...und ich kann bestätigen, dass es sich lohnt! In Kombination mit meiner A1 ist das Erlebnis und die Ergebnisse einfach gigantisch gut! Super Kontraste, extrem schneller Autofokus, tolle Schärfe und eine sehr gute Ergonomie für die Objektiv-Größe.

Sharp, bright, robust, lightning-quick autofocus work and really light. You can not imagine that 600mm f/4 can be that light - no problem to handhold for long periods of time when working with wildlife, which is nice that you do not need to carry a tripod/monopod for every time.

I've had this lens for about a month and have used it quite a bit. For a large lens it is very easy to handle. I thought I'd have to shoot it on a tripod or at least a monopod but most of my shots have been hand held. The lens is really sharp. The detail is fantastic and the backgrounds just melt away. Worth every penny!

coming from a Nikon 500F4E FL ED and thought about adding the Nikon 600 but way too heavy. did hours of research and it turns out Sony has the best Pro camera/lens combo and is at least two generations ahead of the competition. decided to add the ultimate setup (A9II + 600GM) for action and birds. the Sony FE 600 GM is as light as my 500mm and is excellent beyond words! if you want the very best, this is it.

I have been using this lens for a month and it is simply astounding. I have been using it with the A9ii and A7R4 and the focus is extremely precise anywhere from closest focus distance to subjects hundreds of feet away. Color correction is superb and the bokeh is pure butter. This lens works great with the 1.4x converter, as seen in the attached photographs of bears. Weight and balance for a 600 f4 is as good as it gets.

J'ai acheté cet objectif début mai juste après le déconfinement. Il est très léger pour un 600mm, associé au A9 c'est un régal. Ça me change de mon ancien 500F4 monté sur un D5, une vraie enclume... Le piqué est top dès F4, la stab super efficace et avec le silence du a9 c'est top pour les photos animalières.

I've owned many telephoto lenses in the past. This Sony out-performs all others in every aspect! The weight alone is insane, and is easily manageable using handheld. I've used this lens with the A7r IV and A9, and performs beautifully! The image quality is outstanding with some of the best Bokeh I've seen in a telephoto lens.

Die Abbildungsleistung und AF-Geschwindigkeit des Objektivs sind ausgezeichnet und haben meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Insbesondere in Kombination mit der Sony A9 ist es bei bewegten Objekten schnell und von außerordentlicher Präzision. Die Zahl unscharfer Bilder liegt unter 1%. Im Vergleich wirken die Bilder mit dem 200-600er eher flau, welches ich auf einer vorangegangen Reise testen konnte. Die Kombination mit dem 1.4fach Extender führt nicht zu unmittelbar sichtbaren Abbildungsverlusten. Das Bokeh ist beeindruckend. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrung habe ich mich dann für den Kauf des 600er entschieden.
